ALMA RUT, KRISTJÁN GÍSLA, and RAKEL PÁLS have extensive experience entertaining audiences and creating a lively, joyful atmosphere.
Together with other musicians, they spent six years performing musical shows at Hótel Grímsborgir under the direction of the famous Icelandic musician Gunnar Þórðarson, including tributes and productions featuring ABBA, Bee Gees, songs from Vestmannaeyjar, Icelandic classics, Gunnar Þórðarson’s anniversary show, Olivia Newton-John, and Hollywood disco. Since then, they have continued performing independently at a wide range of events.
Kristján Gíslason
Most people in Iceland are familiar with Kristján Gíslason. He has been a prominent figure on the Icelandic music scene since 1991, including as the lead singer of the bands Spútnik and Herramenn. Many will remember the songs “Birta” and “Angel,” which represented Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2001, with Kristján as the lead performer. He has also taken part in Eurovision four times as a backing vocalist. Over the years, he has performed with most of the country’s musicians on countless occasions.
Kristján is known for his high, beautiful voice and his vibrant stage presence.
Alma Rut Kristjánsdóttir
Alma began her career as a musician in 2004 when she performed in the musical Hair. Since then, she has sung with many of Iceland’s best-known artists and taken part in countless major concerts and events.
One of the things she enjoys most is performing at dances and entertaining a crowd.
She has been singing with the band Todmobile since 2009 and was also a member of the country band Vestanáttin. She has twice represented Iceland at Eurovision as a backing vocalist.
Alma has a powerful voice and an even bigger smile.
Rakel Pálsdóttir
Rakel won the Samfés Singing Competition in 2004, which marked the beginning of her rising music career.
She has performed in the Icelandic National Selection for Eurovision four times, in addition to singing backing vocals, and has appeared at a wide variety of events.
Rakel founded the band Hinemoa, which performed extensively around Iceland as well as abroad. She has released her own music as well as songs written by others. Her Christmas album was released in 2022 and was named Album of the Week on Rás 2 at the time.
Rakel is known for her bright voice and strong stage presence.
